SOLOPUP · FREE PRACTICAL RESOURCES · PUBLIC PREVIEW rc.5

Preserve your draft before refreshing a stale page.

A save conflict means another saved revision needs to be reconciled with what is on your screen.

Recognize the situation

Two browser windows can open the same episode. If one window saves first, the other page may hold an old revision. SoloPup rejects a stale save instead of silently overwriting newer work. Repeatedly pressing Save does not resolve the difference.

A careful reconciliation

  1. Keep a separate local copy of your unsaved text and notes before refreshing.
  2. Load the current saved project and identify its revision.
  3. Compare only the cues you intended to change against the current text and timing.
  4. Apply the needed changes to the current revision and save again.

Check the review states

Changed text or timing can invalidate the corresponding review decision. In bilingual work, a changed Chinese source can also require the paired English translation to be reviewed again. An earlier approval does not automatically cover the new wording.

The SRT change-summary script can identify changed numeric cue positions in two exported files. Insertions can shift later positions, so its output is a comparison aid rather than semantic matching. Do not repair a conflict by editing a production database by hand.
