Let the second thought arrive second.
A translation can be accurate as a sentence and still spoil the timing of a scene.
An invented two-screen example
| Screen | Chinese source | English translation |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 先别开门。 | Don’t open the door yet. |
| 2 | 我听见外面有声音。 | I hear something outside. |
Putting both English sentences on screen 1 would reveal the explanation before the second Chinese screen. Keep the thought with its source screen, then refine natural English within that timing.
A review order that helps
- Confirm the Chinese transcript against final audio.
- Align source and translation screen counts and times.
- Read the English for meaning, character voice and natural phrasing.
- Check which information each screen reveals.
- Inspect duration, reading speed and advisory syllable estimates.
Comparable rhythm is a goal; exact syllable equality is not. Do not pad a line or lose meaning to match a count. Check paired screen alignment and calculate reading speed before returning to the video.
