Choose a clip that can reveal the workflow’s weak points.
A useful trial tests the work you actually need, rather than a single easy line.
Use representative material
Select a short releasable or authorized passage with the relevant voices and timing conditions. For SDH, include a meaningful sound or music change. For bilingual review, include a source thought split across screens. If songs are central to the project, evaluate a sung passage separately.
Start without a model call
The public synthetic kit can test installation, paired-SRT import, playback controls, saving and export with no AI key. It is silent, so it cannot test speech recognition or translation quality. Record that boundary instead of treating every successful import as an AI benchmark.
When evaluating optional AI
Check the provider access, applicable quota and budget yourself before starting. Use a small authorized sample and record actual observations, corrections and review effort. Saving provider settings alone makes no request and proves no account access. This guide does not call a model or promise a free provider quota.
Use the Pilot plan and Feedback worksheets. A good short result is evidence for that clip, not approval of an entire season.
